Rock Star Dream Weaver Novels Book 2 Volume 2 Su Williams 9781493587940 Books

I have been waiting for the sequel to Dream Weaver to come out. With the way Dream Weaver ended I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Finally Rock Star is out and it was worth the wait. This book is just as awesome, if not better than Dream Weaver. I hope this series, or ""saga" keeps going for a long time.
P.S. You don't need to read Dream Weaver to get and enjoy this book. I highly recommend you do read it first, but you don't have to.

Rock Star Dream Weaver Novels Book 2 Volume 2 Su Williams 9781493587940 Books Reviews

Rock Star by Su Williams is the second in the Dream Weaver trilogy, and I really enjoyed reading it. Well, devouring is probably a more apt description. I finished this book in two nights after the kids were asleep. It is definitely a page turner.

Suddenly our fairly meek and tormented main character, Emari, is on tour as the lead singer of a rock band. Despite the name of the book I did not see that plot twist coming. Last we read, she had somehow stumbled upon a place she had been "reprogrammed" to forget. But not to worry, the answers are there to be had.

Readers of this next installment of the Dream Weaver series are in for a treat. I'm looking forward to the third and final chapter of Emari's story. Just not tonight. Well, maybe just a chapter or two...

We pick up not long after the end of Dram Weaver. Em has her own life. Never to remember the love of a lifetime in the arms of Dream Weaver Nick…or is it?
This story starts off very intense and while there is moments of the mundane, there are plenty of action scene as well. I do like the fact that this brings more of the Dream Weaver history into focus as well as why the baddie from book 1 was the baddie. There were quite a few surprise in the book as well. I will say I want an Eddyson of my own. I totally enjoyed the book and look forward to part 3.
What I first noticed and thought was interesting was that the chapter title were song titles. A really well written book with an intriguing storyline. The characterization is really strong. The story draws you in and keeps your interest. Emari lives out her dream of being a rock star through a memory weave constructed by a dream weaver but she is haunted by dreams of a different life. I think it might be fun to live a fantasy life but then reality would eventually come crashing in. “His voice speaks things he would never say. He hurts me. He takes me.” A really good follow up to the first book. 4 stars. This book was a gift.

I found myself liking this book more than the first one. The romance was a bit more believable and it was interesting to see more of Sabre’s past in particular.

I liked the fact that at least one of the villains had more of a past and reasons why he became that. I did end up feeling quite sorry for him by the end of the book… and I spent a lot of the book feeling really bad for Sabre. He definitely continues to be my favourite character.

Emari… I’m still not entirely sure what to make of her. I find a lot of what she says very contradictory, particularly when it came to Ivy. I do really like Ivy as a character, but I’m getting a bit tired about the fact that most people seem to be in love with/have a crush on Emari. (Even Sabre seems to act out of character around her).

One of the main things I liked about this book was that Emari wasn’t completely skilled with her powers straight away. It was good that she needed help with her training and that she did get hurt, rather than not suffer any consequences at all. However, at certain points in the book, her moods swung around so much, I found myself in danger of getting whiplash.

I really liked the whole concept of Ari. I don’t like spiders at all, but the idea behind the device was a really intriguing one and I felt the author did a really good job of explaining the detail. And it was nice to see the way they communicated with each other.

I wasn’t very thrilled about suddenly being thrown into Sabre’s head. If a book is written in first person, I feel it should stay in one character’s head. If it’s going to change, it shouldn’t be for a couple of pages and that’s it.

I really liked Sabre’s relationship with Nick and also with William. I would have liked to see more of both of those.

I do have book three in this series ready to read, but if I’m going to read any more, I’d like to see some edits (there were quite a few errors that were easy to spot) and less contradictions.
I thoroughly enjoyed this unique, well written second novel in the Dream Weaver series. I can't wait for the third installment!
Rock Star is every bit as intriguing as her first book. Fast paced and well constructed. I recommend this book to any paranormal reader.
I have read the first and now second book of this series. And I have greatly enjoyed them. Can't wait to read the next book!
