Romance, let alone paranormal romance is not my go-to genre but I couldn’t stop reading this one even when I had important things to do! The story intrigued me. It was so clever and clear the way Pouchet wove this tale together. Her writing is smart and tight and I really enjoyed this book. The dreams were vivid and very hot and the back and forth between Layla and Sebastain was great foreplay. The author has a way of taking the writing to an edge and turning it in a slightly unexpected direction which totally works in this book. Can’t wait to read more from this author!

Layla is an actress who moonlights as a waitress to help pay the bills. But it’s neither of those things that keep her nights occupied. It’s the sensual dreams she keeps having about someone she’s never met. Until one day she does meet him…and he’s her boss…and every time she looks at him memories of her dreams pop into her head. Yep, she definitely has a slight problem with acting professional when he’s around. It’s a good thing she’s an actress and can hide her emotions…but too bad she can’t hide them from the sexy empath they’re targeted at.

It’s Sebastian’s play Layla auditioned for, and he’s completely mesmerized by her. He doesn’t know how he knows, but he knows she’s just as attracted to him, and that puts a glitch in his ‘don’t get involved with the actresses’ and ‘actors are cattle’ mottos. Though you can’t ignore feelings for someone you’re meant to be with, especially not when your mother is playing matchmaker.

I loved the premise of this story and look forward to reading the rest of the series. Bring on book two. God only knows what kind of trouble Trystan can get into with his fire elemental mate. Maybe she’ll be able to burn through the wall he put up around his heart.

My Favorite Moments I loved it when Sebastian could hear Layla’s thoughts and when he told her he had been able to sense her emotions for a while. Luckily he didn’t let her get too embarrassed by the discovery.
Layla is just this ordinary girl who is trying to work and pay her bills during the day. It's the night times that are hard for her. She has these dreams about a guy. Normally we would love to read about her dreaming of some steamy man. The only problem is that, she doesn't know who this guy is.

So Layla decides to audition for a play that is run by Sebastian. Sebastian instantly feels the attraction between them. He has no idea how he knows this, let alone why its so strong. So what does he do? Break a rule of course! He will just casually go an d get to know her, which is not recommended because mixing things with business, always ends up messy. Even if things do work out, something always pops up, but since this connection is so strong Sebastian almost HAS to know her. Which I'm glad he broke his rule because, I ended up liking this character.

I do love the mythology brought into this story about Inca. It's something different and always a good thing to read about something new.

So I really enjoyed this book and it deep keep my attention throughout. I just wished that some points of the book were stronger and slightly more detailed. Otherwise I really did enjoy the book and hop to get my hands on all the books that come next!

I love the myths, it was written well and you got a good sense of the Inca and what its all about. I liked that the dreams were more of visions/flashback but hey those dreams are still fun to read. Who knew they could have such sexy dreams.

DC is where everything is and I liked that. I mean I don't read many books that take place in Washington, and I liked that change in scenery.

So overall I give this book 4.5 stars.
This book takes me to exciting places and I love the journey. I can see and feel the landscape and the characters facial expressions. Waiting for the next book. Soothing and grasping writing.
I like the start with the Incan mother racing against time and the battle above to save her children’s souls. Great Book. A great series in the making. Would be a nice audible book.
I'm a big fan of paranormal romances and this was no exception. I loved the character's and I liked the changing points of view between the two main characters. It is a very satisfying story with just enough steamy scenes.
Ms. Pouchet has done it again! I couldn't stop reading Layla's Grace and didn't want it to end. An intriguing, fast moving plot with just the right amount of steamy romance and masterfully interwoven paranormal elements. When oh when will the next book be released?
Layla's gale has great action and wonderful red herrings (will not post any spoilers) plus hot sex. This book is the only one I can remember that uses Incan myths as a back drop for the storylines not sure how much was drawn from actual myths but I loved the originality. The overall power struggles between good and evil and how they are personified was also very originally done and drew me in as they fight to save the world. Really looking forward to the next book (Nicole Pouchet-please hurry! ).
