Dragonstar Dragonfriend Book 4 edition by Marc Secchia Children eBooks

This one arrived in my inbox as a pre-order I'd forgotten about, so that was a nice surprise.
Finally, at last, we have the concluding volume (along with a rather charming epilogue) of the expxixcx EPIC fantasy tale of Hualiama and Grandion's love affair, along with world-shaking (literally) changing the course of history in the Cloud-islands world.
Honestly, I felt that things got just a wee bit out of control, over the top at times. Jaw-dropping awesomeness can only happen so many times before one's jaw dislocates.
Criticism out of the way, this has to be one of the most amazing step-it-up-a-notch-or-five concluding volumes to a series that I've ever read. The potential awkwardness of a cross-species love affair between Lia (originally human) and Grandion (the uniquely impressive, and attractive tourmaline dragon is entirely satisfactorily resolved, although of course I dare not tell you how.
It is a thumping, thundering final book on a cosmic scale.
A wonderfully imagined world, deeply explored; a fantastic variety of creatures (especially, of dragonkind!); a tapestry of individual tales and encounters; intrigue, drama, romance and suspense; action, adventure and war, the Dragonfriend series has absolutely everything you could ask for.

Dragonstar Dragonfriend Book 4 edition by Marc Secchia Children eBooks Reviews

I loved this book. I can only hope that the series will continue. This is book four of the series and I stayed up late every night reading. I really did not want to stop, but I had to go to work the next day and that is the only reason I stopped reading. I don't want to spoil this or any of the books, but if you love dragons and magic, you will love this series.
Marc Secchia's Dragonfriend story is an amazing tale of companionship with a strong female lead who must work through life and death situations in order to save her world. I highly recommend this story to dragon lovers and especially dragon/human relationship lovers. A true love story!
Marc delightfully wraps up Hualiama's tale in this book and introduces some of where dragons might have come from. But definitely we learn how the shapeshifter race comes to being and Amarillion's legacy in that.
I love the rich, detailed and varied life of the dragon kind. I loved Liz's connection with Flicker but I feel that in some ways her connection with her dragonlove was not as strong as we had come to expect. We do see them maturing though and the world Marc creates is so fantastic yet still makes you think it could be possible. This book lays the foundation of other books out there and while it doesn't answer every question it does explain some of what we see in other books.
The word "proverbial" appears 11 times in this book. The series started out great but each book became more long-winded and laced with excessively overdescriptive embellishments and information irrelevant. And I'm not speaking of lore worked in, I enjoyed that deeply. I'm talking about beefy biceps. This book fell deeply into a lot of cheesy writing no-no's. I liked the series, even including how over the top everything ends up, but I can't help feel like this was written by a post- millennial channeling h.p. lovecraft (and i love me some unfathimable cyclopean horror).
Ultimately, the story comes together and makes sense, but it took a lot of twists and trails to get there. Nearly the first quarter of the book seems to be the author using his story to show off a prodigious vocabulary and I found it quite confusing. I waded through it due to how good the other books are and was eventually gratified by things sort of coming together. Then everything fragmented again. By the end the three main characters were together and the primary difficulties settled to everyone's satisfaction, but somewhere along the way we lost track of many of the main characters. I can only assume their stories will reemerge in the next book and much will be explained that just seemed to disappear part way through Dragonstar. I think the author tried to work so many strings that he wound up with a big knot.
I live in a world of non-magic, where dragons do not exist but this series has provided another world where I could live through the characters. Did I say magic didn't exist in our world? These books have given
me an insight I hadn't thought about before. But magic of a sort does exist... Pregnancy, birth, love and yes even death is a type of magic. And the true magic of story telling that Marc Secchia has performed with the telling of Lia and Grandion's story. I'm sad the story has ended. I have thoroughly enjoyed all 4 books.
